How many satellite have Indian launched this year?


Indian Satellites:


Foreign media reported a statement released by a top space official in India, saying India is to launch at least five satellites this year. P.S. Veeraraghavan, the Director of state-owned Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, told press members in the southern Indian city of Chennai, that three satellites which are Spot-6, a French satellite and a small Japanese communication satellite will be launched next month via Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle rocket, further stating that the other two would be launched later this year.

 The official added that the French satellite will be soon brought into India while the Japanese one is already in the southern spaceport of Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.Some countries are forced with power and launching satellites to the space for either business or military purposes is one thing they have to do. India is one of those countries.

India had approved its Mars mission last week.

Indian passports come at a high price


As petrol, gold and all things valuable become more expensive in India, so does the price of our identity.The normal passport fee has been raised by Rs 500 to make it Rs 1,500 now. 

The fast track ‘Tatkal’ service is up by Rs 1000 which totals the cost to Rs 3,500. The revised fee for regular applications for Non Resident Indians is USD 75 and euro 60. 

Earlier it was USD 40 and euro 48. The new price hike is effective from October 1 2012.

To aid passport services, the government introduced the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) sometime back. 

Applicants are requested to contact the PSK office that falls under their jurisdiction belt.

New generation Indian CEO’s paid highest in the world


The rules have changed. What was formerly a prerogative in the West is now the norm in the East. Younger Indian CEOs are increasingly overtaking American and European organization heads to lead as the highest paid in the world. 

The average annual salary for an Indian CEO below the age of 50 is about Rs 7.9 crore while those in America earn around Rs 7.3 crore. European company heads come a close second at Rs 7.8 crore.

“The younger CEOs are compensated better because of a higher concentration of first generation promoters passing on the CEO mantle to their heirs and family members” says Balaji E, MD &CEO, Ranstad India. Indian CEOs from the manufacturing segment earn the highest at Rs 8.7 crore while those from consumer goods follow next at an average salary of Rs 5.6 crore.

 However, private sector executive heads are compensated 21 times higher and enjoy more benefits than public sectors heads who average at about just 0.3 crore.

However, professional CEOs earn significantly lesser than their promoter counterparts and on fall way behind America and Europe.

 Across India, promoter CEOs earn 53% higher than professional CEOs, the study revealed.
